DIY Emu Oil Cuticle Nail Rescue

If your nails are constantly splitting, your cuticles feel dry, or your hands have taken a beating from frequent washing, a simple nourishing oil can make a big difference to your daily routine.

The best part? You only need a handful of ingredients, and it takes less than five minutes to make.

Ingredients (makes roughly 60ml / 2oz)

  • 2.5 tablespoons Willow Springs pure emu oil
  • 3 teaspoons sweet almond oil
  • 1.5 teaspoons teaspoons vitamin E oil
  • 4 drops lavender essential oil (optional, for a light floral scent)

Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a clean dropper bottle or roller ball bottle
  2. Secure the lid and gently shake to combine
  3. Store in a cool, dark place

That's it! Your cuticle oil is ready to use.

How to Use

Massage one small drop into each nail, cuticle, and surrounding skin every evening before bed. Take an extra minute to gently massage the oil into your fingertips to help soften dry skin and lock in moisture overnight.

For especially dry hands, apply the oil after using hand cream or wear lightweight cotton gloves overnight for an extra moisturizing treatment.

Why These Ingredients?

Emu oil is naturally rich in omega-9 and omega-6 fatty acids, plus naturally occurring vitamin E, making it an excellent base for nourishing dry cuticles. It helps replenish moisture, soften rough skin, and absorbs quickly, leaving your hands hydrated without a greasy feel.

Sweet almond oil is rich in fatty acids and vitamin E, making it a popular choice for conditioning dry cuticles and helping skin feel smooth and supple.

Vitamin E oil provides antioxidant support while adding an extra boost of moisture to dry, damaged skin.

Lavender essential oil (optional) adds a soothing floral scent, making this cuticle oil a perfect addition to your bedtime self-care routine. A few drops provide a gentle fragrance while you massage the oil into your nails and cuticles. If you have sensitive skin, perform a patch test first or leave it out altogether.

A Simple Habit That Pays Off

Healthy-looking nails start with healthy cuticles. Spending just a minute each evening caring for your hands can help keep cuticles soft, reduce dryness, and leave your hands looking well cared for.

Sometimes the simplest routines are the ones that are easiest to stick with, and your nails will thank you for it.
